Prahran Square Melbourne art experience free events interactive installation
This November, Prahran Square becomes a hub of light, colour, and creativity with two unforgettable free experiences, Ephemeral Collection and The Bubble Emporium. The open-air celebration will light up the heart of Melbourne’s Chapel Street Precinct, blending large-scale art, sound, and live performance for all ages.
Ephemeral Collection — 10 to 23 November 2025
Artist: Atelier Sisu

Daily Hours: Open all day, illuminating nightly until 11 pm

By day, the Ephemeral Collection glistens in the sunlight, a breathtaking display of towering bubble-like forms standing at 7.5 metres high. Each sculpture is wrapped in dichroic film, refracting natural light to create shifting patterns and bursts of colour across the square.
As night falls, the experience transforms. The glowing installation, paired with an ambient soundscape, turns Prahran Square into an illuminated dreamscape that celebrates the beauty of impermanence and the power of the present moment.
Visitors are encouraged to explore, photograph, and simply pause to experience the wonder of seeing light and reflection interact in real time.

The Bubble Emporium — 12 to 16 November 2025

Performances:
• 6 pm – The Golden Oldies (whimsical theatre and charm)
• 8 pm – The Boys in Blue (outdoor dance party)

For five spectacular nights, The Bubble Emporium will fill Prahran Square with 20,000 bubbles per minute, floating, shimmering, and glowing under the evening sky. The Victorian premiere combines music, theatre, and performance art in a light-hearted showcase designed to delight audiences “aged 0 to 100.”
The early shows with The Golden Oldies bring humour and nostalgia, while The Boys in Blue raise the energy with a high-spirited dance party that invites everyone to join in.
