Nick Kyrgios headlines King of the Court Melbourne 3v3 streetball event this November with slam dunks, music, markets and culture.
Basketball meets celebrity flair this November as Nick Kyrgios takes centre court at Melbourne’s King of the Court 3v3 Streetball Festival. Returning for its eighth year, the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest streetball event will transform RMIT’s A’Beckett Urban Square on November 8–9 into a high-energy playground of hoops, music, and culture.

Known for his passion for sport and bold personality, Kyrgios will swap the tennis racquet for a front-row seat as the Official Judge of the Slam Dunk Contest, joining an international lineup of elite dunkers including Chris Staples (USA), Guy Dupuy (France), Tyler Currie (USA) and Brodie Stephens (AUS). His courtside presence is set to bring star power and excitement to what’s already shaping up to be Melbourne’s biggest basketball weekend of the year.
This year’s event brings together global competition and local culture with teams from Japan, China, New Zealand and France competing for both the King and Queen of the Court titles. The atmosphere will be charged with live DJ sets led by Soju Gang, the return of the ‘Who’s Got Next’ Rap Battle, and the Chemo Finds Sunday Street Market — a celebration of urban creativity featuring vintage fashion, tattoos, art, jewellery and more.

Fans can also get involved through a series of on-court activations and giveaways. The Champion Giveaway Challenge will see lucky crowd members race to throw on Champion gear before shooting for a chance to win a signed Shaquille O’Neal jersey or NBL tickets. The event will also showcase an original size 22 Reebok Shaq Attaq shoe, valued at $1,000, a rare collector’s piece built for the big man himself.
Adding to the excitement, Champion returns as the Naming Rights Sponsor and On-Court Apparel Partner, while Reebok joins as Official Footwear Partner, spotlighting grassroots players and women’s basketball. Together, they’ll power this year’s tournament with custom teamwear, community activations and premium giveaways.
Basketball lovers and streetwear enthusiasts will also get an exclusive first look at the Champion x KOTC capsule collection, dropping November 8. Limited to just 200 Reverse Weave® hoodies and tees, the design by artist and player Carlo Camp draws inspiration from the Japanese symbol for “Honour”, featuring a man and woman leaping for a jump ball to represent equality and streetball spirit.

As KOTC founder Mitch Lang puts it, “King of the Court has evolved into something far greater than a tournament – it’s a celebration of community, culture and creativity. With Champion and Reebok on board, we’re pushing the boundaries again this year. The mix of sport, style and energy is unlike anything else in Australia.”
Before the main event, fans can warm up at Saturday Night Lights sessions on October 4, 18 and November 1, free community evenings featuring streetball games, DJ sets and giveaways.
Now in its eighth year, King of the Court continues to redefine what sport can mean for a city, uniting players, creators and fans from across the world in a shared celebration of skill, style and culture.
